Programs
  • Sustainable Schools WA
    A whole-school planning framework for Education for Sustainability (EfS) that has been developed ‘by schools, for schools’ to support implementation of the Western Australian Curriculum. Teachers can also network and share ideas with other teachers on sustainability in their schools via ‘Connect Communities’.
  • Clean Schools
    The Clean Schools program aims at changing the littering behaviour of students through a whole school approach to litter prevention, and provides a range of resources to help.
  • Millennium Kids
    A non-profit, non-government organisation, Millennium Kids is run by young people and was established in response to their demand for a greater say in their environment and their world.
  • Perth Zoo
    From Australia to Africa, classrooms to camps, penguins to primates - Perth Zoo provides global as well local environmental education opportunities for your students.
  • Waterwise
    The Waterwise Schools Program aims to educate students, their families and wider communities about the need to value, protect and conserve our precious water resources.
  • Little Green Steps WA
    Little Green Steps WA supports education for sustainability in early childhood.
Metropolitan Regional Councils
  • Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council
    The Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council hosts school tours of the Red Hill Waste Management Facility and activities at the environmental education centre.  In addition, they coordinate several other school waste education programs in Perth's Eastern Region on behalf of its member councils, including a highly successful battery recycling program. The Earth Carers program is also offered to residents and is a useful course for local teachers.

  • Southern Metropolitan Regional Council
    Recycle Right is a campaign brought to you by the Southern Metropolitan Regional Council, which encourages and assists residents and businesses in the South Metropolitan Region to recycle, reduce their rubbish and buy more recycled products. Tours of the Regional Resource Recovery Centre as well as other waste education activities and resources are available to school groups. 
  • Western Metropolitan Regional Council
    The Western Metropolitan Regional Council’s Earth Carers program educates, advises and facilitates environmentally sustainable practices and behaviours among residents in Perth’s western suburbs.  They can also visit schools to help with projects like setting up worm farms. The Western Earth Carers offer a High School Earth Carers course, a Primary or Secondary school battery recycling program and support for river and beach clean ups.

    A child-friendly, comprehensive resource centre, presenting information on all sorts of issues relating to sustainability principles.
