Little Green Steps WA
Little Green Steps WA is a not-for-profit program that supports Education for Sustainability (EfS) in early learning centres in Western Australia. It works together with an extensive range of educational resources, networks and local communities towards our common goal of giving children the confidence and skills to have a positive impact on their lives and their environment.
Millennium Kids
Millennium Kids Inc is a not-for-profit, environmental youth organisation, that empowers young people with a ‘skills for life’ approach so they can become leaders and change-agents in their communities today.
Perth Zoo
Discover the great variety of education experiences for children of all phases of development, ranging from early childhood to tertiary. Learning experiences are linked to the Australian Curriculum, connecting students with nature and empowering them to take positive action for our environment.
Plastic Free Riverpark program
A Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions’ program working with riverfront businesses, Local Government, and the community to reduce single-use plastic packaging entering the Swan and Canning rivers. Through this program, schools within 500m of the Swan and Canning rivers are eligible for a grant of $500 to help their canteen or associated food and beverage operators on campus to transition from single-use plastic to reusable and zero waste alternatives. The program also aims to deliver education to students through talks and activities surrounding topics of river health and plastic pollution.
SERCUL
The South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare (SERCUL) brings together the community, Local Governments, businesses, educational institutions and Government agencies to develop and implement projects that improve the health of our waterways and other ecosystems. It offers a range of education programs for schools.
Sustainable Schools WA
Sustainable Schools WA is an initiative that supports a whole-school approach to education for sustainability, consistent with the Western Australian Curriculum and Australian Curriculum cross curriculum priority of sustainability. Teachers can also network and share ideas with other teachers on sustainability via ‘Connect Communities’.
Waterwise Schools Program
The Waterwise Schools Program is a multi-sensory experience in which students can learn about our water cycle and sources, supply and history, and how to be waterwise through conservation and sustainability. It supports the WA curriculum from early learning through to high school and offers incursions, excursions, virtual tours, lesson plans, and more.
