Located in Innaloo, the school has adopted a whole school environmental approach to minimising waste. Yuluma actively involves students, staff, parents, guardians, community members and organisations into the school's Waste Wise program. This program also has an altruistic approach by providing positive economic and social benefits to individuals who are less fortunate than many of the students. The school community also supports the conservation and protection of animals.

Yuluma actively involves students, staff, parents, guardians, community members and organisations into the school's Waste Wise program. This program also has an altruistic approach by providing positive economic and social benefits to individuals who are less fortunate than many of the students. The school community also supports the conservation and protection of animals.
They have successfully gained the $2000, $5000 and $10,000 grants. Amongst other materials, the funds from these grants have been used to establish two worm farms made out of recycled and degassed fridges set up by Kevin from the Worm Shed.
The school also had a worm incursion and the knowledge gained by the students has allowed them to share their understanding about how to set up and run the worm farms with their wider school community. To overcome the overheating of worms throughout summer, the school installed reticulated spray heads directly into the fridges. Volunteers also oversee the worms throughout the summer break. The worm farms have become so efficient that they are now selling worms as well as the castings and worm wiz.
The school also has a highly productive vegetable garden and is currently developing a sensory garden and compost bays from recycled materials, with the funds from their grants.
