From 2020, the survey of recyclers will be replaced by reporting requirements under regulation 18C of the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Regulations 2008.
The reviews present the quantity of all materials recycled, total waste generation and diversion for each financial year. Data is gathered from a variety of sources including the direct survey of material recyclers, other industry surveys and export data.
Information presented in the Recycling Activity Review provides a basis for assessing the state’s performance against the targets set in the Waste Strategy, assessing the performance of Western Australia against other jurisdictions, and contributes to the measurement of national recycling activity.
