The Infinity Awards provide public recognition and encouragement to individuals, business, local/regional government and State Government agencies and community organisations that demonstrate innovation and commitment to reducing waste and increasing re-use and recycling.
Awarded every year at a special celebratory function, winners for each of the six categories receive $5,000 and the two highly commended recipients $1,000 each in recognition of their outstanding work.
A total of 18 award recipients are recognised and honoured. Members of the Authority, together with the Minister for Environment and other dignitaries, pay tribute to work that plays a major role in advancing better waste management.
The awards also support the Waste Strategy's strategic objective 5, to acknowledge the success of individuals and organisations that assist with the aims and principles of the Strategy.
The award recipients will also be acknowledged at the Waste and Recycling Conference.
The 2014 Waste Wise Schools category is proudly sponsored again by Chevron. We thank them for their ongoing support as a Platinum sponsor.
