The domestic waste and recycling dashboard allows you to view information about the tonnes of waste collected and recovered by local governments since 2014–15.
The data can be filtered by local government, regions and waste service type.

Local government dashboard
Tonnes collected, recovered and the recovery rates for the most recent reporting year, as well as trends in tonnes collected, are shown for your filtered selection.
Filter the report by one or more local governments. Clear your selections using the eraser icon in the top right-hand corner of the list of local governments.
The report can also be filtered more broadly by regional areas using the green boxes under ‘Select region’. You can apply multiple regional selections by holding down your Ctrl key when applying your filters. Remove filters by selecting the filter again.
Per capita
Kilograms of domestic waste landfilled and recovered per capita is displayed in the columns with the recovery rate displayed in the line. The data can be filtered by region using the green boxes under ‘Select region’.
Services
Tonnes of domestic waste collected and the number of local governments offering the selected waste collection service is displayed.

Data sources
The material recovery data was predominantly obtained from annual returns lodged by liable persons to the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation under regulation 18C of the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Regulations 2008.
