WasteSorted Donation Improvement Program grants

Supporting charitable recyclers

The WasteSorted Donation Improvement Program grants are a Government of Western Australia initiative administered by the Waste Authority. The program provides funding to help charitable recyclers improve donation practices and reduce illegal dumping.

Charitable recyclers deliver vital services to Western Australians in need. However, many organisations must regularly manage materials that are either illegally dumped at donation bins and shopfronts or donated with good intentions but are unsuitable for reuse or recycling. This places a burden on charities and results in unnecessary waste being sent to landfill.

This targeted grant program supports charitable recyclers to:

  • discourage illegal dumping
  • encourage responsible donation behaviours.

The program aims to reduce waste to landfill and ensure donations remain a valuable resource rather than a cost to organisations.
