9:30–11.30amTopics Education and engagement; local government services FOGO processing; market development Western Australia’s Waste avoidance and resource recovery strategy 2030 identifies organics as a focus material and includes a headline strategy for all local governments in the Perth and Peel regions to roll out better practice food organics and garden organics (FOGO) services by 2025.
The Waste Authority, with input from the FOGO Reference Group, is supporting local governments to transition to better practice FOGO kerbside collection systems.
We are delivering two online FOGO information sessions (held via Zoom) to provide updates on key FOGO projects. The sessions will cover various aspects of FOGO, including:
- education and engagement – implementing behaviour change using WasteSorted
- local government services – planning and implementing better practice FOGO services
- processing – processing FOGO organics
- market development – developing robust markets for FOGO-derived products.
The sessions will also provide an opportunity for discussion and questions.
