Infinity Awards
The Infinity Awards provide public recognition and encouragement to individuals, business, local/regional government and State Government agencies and community organisations that demonstrate innovation and commitment to reducing waste and increasing re-use and recycling.
Awarded every year at a special celebratory function, winners for each of the 6 categories receive $5,000 in recognition of their outstanding work. A total of 18 award recipients are recognised and honoured. Members of the Authority, together with the Minister for Environment and other dignitaries, pay tribute to work that plays a major role in advancing better waste management.
The awards also support the Waste Strategy's strategic objective 5, to acknowledge the success of individuals and organisations that assist with the aims and principles of the Strategy.
The Awards are timed to be announced before the Waste and Recycling Conference in order for the achievements of the recipients to be acknowledged at this important industry forum.
The call for nominations is promoted on the website and advertised in other media. Assessments are made of demonstrated projects that have occured over a period of a year.
